STREET SHOES ARE NOT ALLOWED IN ANY OF OUR STUDIOS BECAUSE SHINE HAS SPECIALIZED DANCE FLOORING. STUDENTS MAY WEAR SNEAKERS TO HIP-HOP CLASS, BUT THESE SHOES MUST BE CLEAN AND NOT WORN OUTDOORS.

BALLET

All Ballet students must be properly attired only in pink-footed or convertible footed tights, pink ballet slippers and a black solid leotard. Black ballet skirt is optional. No sweatshirts or T-shirts may be worn in class. Girls with long hair must tie their hair back and up and fasten it securely. A hair bun is required for students 8 and over. Loose ponytails are not permitted.

TAP

Leotard, tights and/or jazz pants, black tap shoes. Hair pulled back off face.

JAZZ, LYRICAL JAZZ, AND CONTEMPORARY CLASSES

Jazz pants or shorts, leotard or fitted tops, and black jazz shoes. Paws may be worn for lyrical and contemporary. Hair pulled back off of face.

TUMBLE

Leotard and tights or shirt and pants or shorts are acceptable attire. Shoes are not required. Hair pulled back off of face. No jeans or loose clothing.

HIP-HOP

Comfortable clothes that you can move in. No shorts or jeans, no bare legs. Dance sneakers or athletic sneakers. Hair pulled back off of face. No bare legs.

MUSICAL THEATER/ GROUP VOCAL

Comfortable clothes that you can move in. No shorts or Jeans, no bare legs, no filp-flops. Jazz shoes will be required for recital. Hair pulled back off of face.

INTRO TO DANCE

Leotard (black recommended), pink tights, pink ballet slippers, and black tap shoes. Hair pulled off of face in ponytail or bun. Black ballet skirt is optional.  No bare legs.

BALLET/ TAP COMBO

Leotard (black recommended), pink tights, pink ballet slippers, and black tap shoes. Hair pulled off of face in ponytail or bun.  Black ballet skirt is optional.  No bare legs.

JAZZ/ HIP-HOP/ TUMBLE COMBO

Leotard, tights and/or jazz pants, black jazz shoes. Hair pulled back off of face.

JAZZ/TAP COMBO

Leotard, tights and/or jazz pants, black tap and jazz shoes. Hair pulled back off of face.

HIP-HOP/ TUMBLE COMBO

Leotard and tights or shirt and pants are acceptable attire. Socks for tumble and sneakers for hip-hop. Hair pulled back off of face. No jeans. No Bare Legs.

WE RECOMMEND THAT DANCERS BUY BLACK JAZZ AND TAP SHOES AND PINK BALLET SLIPPERS AS THIS IS THE COLOR THAT WILL BE WORN WITH THEIR RECITAL COSTUME.

ALL SHOES AND DANCE ATTIRE MAY BE PURCHASED AT SHINE DANCE & PERFORMING ARTS ACADEMY.
